NYC has been working to overhaul their school system. I stumbled across their website that had some wonderful information on Reading and Writing Units of Study in grades K - 12. It looks as if they even give units of study, mini-lessons, and supporting texts. The mini-lessons provided are the main ideas, then you spend the rest of the lessons based on the needs of your students. After seeing Lucy Calkins speak in Michigan a few years ago about this project, I believe most of the units of study were written using the Lucy Calkins Units of Study. I think this could be a great resource to go along with our district's new ELA Year at a Glance workshop model.
