You could work this many different ways. You could have clothes pins with consonant clusters (fr, bl, br, cl, cr, dr, fl, gl, gr, pl, pr, sc, sk, sl, sm, sn, sp, st, sw, tr, tw, ch, sh, wh, th) on them, so the students can begin to recognize the clusters or you could do this with word parts or endings (ly, ing, ed, s, es). You could also have a picture, have the student put the clips for the sounds they hear, and then self check it with the word on the back. I thought it looked more fun than the traditional Elkonin boxes.
